The Carol Kimmelman Sports and Academic Campus

Honoring the legacy of Carol Kimmelman, Southern California native, avid tennis player, and devoted teacher to underprivileged children in South Los Angeles, The Carol Kimmelman Sports and Academic Campus will bring world-class sports and academic facilities to Carson, California.

Envisioned as one of the largest sports and education complexes in Southern Los Angeles, the approximately 80-acre site will house 52 tennis courts, five soccer and multi-purpose fields, and a 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art learning center. With a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) the academic center will be equipped with high-tech labs, classrooms, and interactive stations to encourage innovative and hands-on learning. The project will also include two basketball courts, a sprint track, and training turf. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) Foundation, the LA Galaxy Foundation, and the TGR Foundation – founded by golf legend Tiger Woods and his late father, Earl Woods – will offer programs at the Kimmelman Campus at little or no cost to under-served local youth and families.

This public recreation center will continue Carol Kimmelman’s dream of bringing premier sports facilities and academic opportunities to the Los Angeles region.
